Our Partnership with Habitat for Humanity

Building a Home

At Marketplace Events we strive to create uniquely vibrant marketplaces and believe that homes are integral to our families, customers and community. Marketplace Events is proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity to help create a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Our shows provide financial support, product donations through exhibitors, contributions from attendees and advocacy through outreach to our more than 1.5 million attendees and 2 million unique web visitors across North America. Join us in this mission to provide a place to call home for all of those in our communities.

In January 2017, Marketplace Events announced its official partnership with Habitat for Humanity. We have been working with Habitat locally in our show markets for years and with this new corporate partnership, we look forward to making an even larger impact both locally and across the globe.

During our spring Hawaii Build + Beach Sweepstakes we raised $25,136.58.  Our winner, Carrie Le from Falls Church, VA received a once in a lifetime opportunity to take part in a Blitz Build for Habitat for Humanity West Hawaii. In addition to building homes, Ms. Le had the opportunity to attend unique cultural demonstrations and enjoy local music and entertainment during the 10-day experience.

As a team, Marketplace Events raised another $27,937.09 donated by employees, friends, and family. Teams held ice cream socials, product auctions, bake sales, and also volunteered at their local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. The amount raised was then matched with another $20,000 from Marketplace Events.

Team fundraising for Habitat for Humanity

To date, through multiple fundraising initiatives, Marketplace Events has raised $78,073.67 to support Habitat for Humanity's mission to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. We will continue to assist in their mission to create a world where everyone has a decent and affordable place to live.

We believe that every child needs a place to call home. A place where they can grow up healthy, be safe, learn and dream. Help us as we help children and families build a more secure future.

About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in more than 1,300 communities throughout the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit

Hurricanes Harvey and Irma and the associated rainfall have caused unprecedented severe flooding, forcing emergency evacuations and damaging thousands of homes and communities. We at Marketplace Events wanted to help those in affected areas.
We’ve set-up an easy way to give to those in need through our partner Habitat for Humanity International and their Disaster Response Fund.
Habitat for Humanity will be assessing shelter and housing needs caused by these storms and their ability to respond effectively to this disaster depends on available resources from generous donors.

Donations will be used to respond to Hurricanes Harvey and Irma until Habitat for Humanity's role in meeting the need is met, at which time funds will be used for Habitat's disaster response efforts where most needed. Habitat for Humanity International shall make every effort to use funds as designated; nevertheless, under the direction of the Board of Directors, Habitat for Humanity International retains complete control over the use and distribution of donated funds in furtherance of its mission.
