CLEVELAND, Ohio – October 12, 2023 – Marketplace Events (MPE) has acquired the SAHBA Home Shows (Spring and Fall editions in Tucson, Arizona) from Southern Arizona’s Home Builder’s Association (SAHBA), it was announced today by Tom Baugh, CEO of Marketplace Events and David Godlewski, President and CEO of SAHBA.

Marketplace Events has a long history of acquiring and growing great shows originally owned by nonprofit home builder’s associations, including recent acquisitions in August of 2022 from HBAs in Harrisburg, PA, and Louisville, KY.  

“We appreciate all that HBAs do for home improvement businesses in so many communities,” Baugh said. “It’s a natural fit for MPE to acquire established HBA shows and use our resources to build an even stronger foundation supporting their legacy of helping local home improvement businesses grow and thrive.” 

“It is with mixed feelings that we say goodbye to SAHBA’s longest running signature event, but we are excited at the opportunity to begin a new chapter and pursue other programs and services for our members,” said Godlewski. “We are honored that Marketplace Events recognized the quality of our Tucson shows and will be adding them to their impressive roster of 70+ shows annually.”

The shows will be managed by veteran Group Manager Dave Maughan, who oversees the operations of shows in Houston, San Antonio, Denver, and now Tucson. 

The spring show will take place next March 15-17, 2024, and the fall show will run Oct 25-27, 2024, both to be held at the Tucson Convention Center.
