EXHIBIT SALES CONSULTANT


Currently recruiting in the following market: Raleigh, NC

This is a remote position working from home. This position is responsible for selling exhibit space via telephone (primarily) and face-to-face calls (limited) in our Home Shows. You will work on multiple shows focusing on new business prospecting, we have a strong prospecting database. Selling exhibit space for our premier home shows to businesses in the remodeling, home décor, landscaping and building industries is your primary responsibility. Key Responsibilities:
  • Sell exhibit space in home shows via outbound telephone calls
  • Sell add-on advertising/marketing opportunities to your customers
  • Make 50-60 sales calls per day to current and prospective clients
  • Meet weekly, monthly and annual sales goals and related targets
  • Work in CRM program; every sales conversation to be documented and all information to be complete/detailed
  • Develop and maintain relationships with exhibitors; ensure customer satisfaction and provide excellent service
  • Through use of our consumer research, understand our attendee demographic and use this information to help sell in the right exhibitors, as well as help our exhibitors do an optimum job reaching their customers
  • Constantly seek out leads for potential exhibitors from every possible source such as advertisements in other media, internet sources, competitive shows, exhibitors from other Marketplace Events shows, association members, etc.
  • Constantly build and maintain sales database utilizing existing processes/guidelines for documenting records
  • Attend appropriate competitive shows/events and follow-up on leads immediately
  • Source local sponsorship leads
  • Understand our show features, marketing/promotional plan and utilize this information
  • Attend weekly video chats with manager and team, attend occasional in-person meetings with manager, team and/or clients, and attend annual in-person company meeting
  • Provide onsite floor management in-person at the show and assist show management with the coordination of the move-in/move-out of the show
  • Bring personal energy, enthusiasm, and flair as a member of the sales team, willing to put in whatever hours are necessary to get the job done
  • Ensure all contracts are signed and space is paid in full on time
  • Collection calls as needed
  • Travel to company meetings, shows and training
  • Other duties as required
Knowledge + Abilities:
  • 2+ year of proven sales experience required, preferably within a telephone-based, inside sales, outbound calling environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office is required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including presentation skills required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet conflicting deadlines
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • High level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness and stress management skills
  • Experience in events including home shows is a plus!

MARKETING MANAGER, U.S. (CONTRACT)

Currently recruiting in the following market: Minneapolis, MN

This is a 12-month contract remote position working from home. The Marketing Manager, U.S. will report to the VP, Marketing, U.S. and will be directly responsible for developing and executing US consumer marketing and attendance-building initiatives designed to increase attendance at 70+ US and CAN consumer shows held annually throughout the U.S. Marketing Manager will have portfolio of shows to manage and work alongside marketing managers in the US and Canada. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists show managers in all aspects of securing and working with outside vendors including: media buyers, PR agencies, graphic designers, printers, advertising production, etc.
  • Collaborates with media buyer and show manager to develop media buy for each show, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Purchases digital media, including SEM, OTT and programmatic, with knowledge of changing digital media landscape.
  • Works with PR agency and show manager to develop PR plan for each show, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Organizes, leads and participates in (along with PR agency, media buyer and show manager) all media promotional discussions with local media, to develop attendance-driving promotions, features and media sponsors for each show.
  • Makes recommendations (along with PR agency) for potential show features or celebrity/expert appearances.
  • Uses show content provided from each show manager to develop copy, oversee creative and drive production of all show advertising maintaining a consistent look and feel across all shows.
  • Oversees trafficking of all paid and promotional media with media buyer.
  • Assists Show Manager in building opt-in e-database for each show both onsite and on show website and through media promotions.
  • Works with Show Manager in development and implementation of online advance ticket sales including promotions with all media and strategic partners.
  • Tracks advance sales vs. prior year and executes last minute initiatives, promotions, discount ticket offers when sales are behind.
  • Creates methods by which marketing initiatives may be tracked and tested, whenever possible.
  • Oversees consumer online surveys, tracks results and presents key data to show managers.
  • Collaborates with marketing coordinator to compile detailed analysis of post-show reports annually to each show manager including top URL referrers to show website; web stat analysis; attendee zip code analysis; etc.
  • Partners with show manager, show admin/ops and digital team on website & social initiatives and email manager on schedules, approvals and execution of annual plans.
Desired Skills & Experience: 
  • A college/university degree in advertising, marketing, journalism or related field
  • 5+ years proven experience within a marketing environment; preferably with an advertising agency or consumer-related products/services
  • Excellent copywriting skills (writing samples will be required)
  • Media buying experience preferred
  • Exceptional customer service focus/skills
  • Strong inter-personal and relationship building skills – internally and externally
  • Great negotiation and analytical skills
  • Proven proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point  
  • Superior communication skills – both oral and written
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally, when necessary
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize various tasks/projects to ensure their timely and accurate completion

HR COORDINATOR

Currently recruiting in the following market: Minneapolis, MN

This is a remote position working from home. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to support a variety of human resources functions including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll support, performance management, employee engagement and policy implementation. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask and a proactive approach to HR operations. Recruitment + Hiring Process:

  • Post job openings on the corporate site and external job boards
  • Manage recruiter accounts and coordinate interview scheduling
  • Communicate with candidates and conduct resume screenings and pre-screen interviews
  • Interview employee referrals and process requisitions for referral payments
  • Maintain hiring process documentation, interview templates and hiring source spreadsheets
  • Serve as backup for offer letter preparation

Compensation + Payroll Support:

  • Prepare compensation change letters for salary increases, promotions, show assignment changes, sales commission rates and bonuses
  • Provide backup support for payroll processing, employee status changes and payroll inquiries
  • Assist with E-Verify eligibility verification for new hires

Onboarding + Offboarding:

  • Craft and post new hire social media announcements
  • Facilitate new hire orientation sessions
  • Assist with onboarding tasks including personalized welcome emails and packages
  • Revise onboarding checklists for managers and maintain new hire checklists
  • Support offboarding processes including exit interviews and developing an offboarding checklist
  • Assist with mentorship program coordination and tracking

  • Coordinate training programs and maintain training records
  • Track employee compliance with required training programs including PCI training
  • Assist with performance review processes including 60-day check-ins, 3-month reviews and annual reviews

Employee Engagement + Events:

  • Organize employee engagement activities, wellness programs and the annual meeting
  • Support team-building initiatives and enhance employee engagement platforms such as internal team groups

Policy + Employee Support:

  • Create employment verification letters for employees
  • Assist with the implementation and updates of company policies and procedures
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits and HR-related matters
  • Maintain US and Canada holiday schedules and emergency contact lists
  • Assist in investigating employee complaints  or concerns when required
  • Travel to company meetings, shows and training sessions as needed
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned

Knowledge + Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of HR experience in an assistant/coordinator role
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, employment laws and best practices
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (ADP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Past experience in event/trade show industry and/or sales environment is helpful
  • Familiarity with social media platforms for recruitment such as LinkedIn
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to travel as needed
