CLEVELAND, Ohio – January 22, 2020 – Marketplace Events, the largest producer of business-to-consumer shows in North America, today announced that it has acquired the Cincinnati Holiday Market from Hart Productions of Cincinnati, OH. Hart Productions will operate as a trade and public show consulting firm continuing on their 65 years of experience in the industry.
“The Cincinnati Holiday Market is a terrific addition to our growing portfolio of holiday shows and a wonderful way for MPE to bring in the new year,” said Tom Baugh, CEO of Marketplace Events. “Vicki Hart should be lauded for her success in growing one of the best holiday events in the Midwest – in just a few years the show has become a powerhouse.”
“We know this show will be in very capable hands,” said Vicki Hart, CEO of Hart Productions. “The deep industry experience of the Marketplace Events’ team, especially in the area of marketing, will ensure this show continues to thrive in the future.”
The holiday show acquisition comes less than three years after the company purchased the Cincinnati Home & Garden Show from Hart Productions. Since acquiring the home show in 2017, Marketplace Events has grown the home show attendance by 21%. “Just as our Cincinnati team has done with the home show, we look forward to building on Vicki’s success and continuing to grow the holiday show, to benefit exhibitors and attendees for years to come,” Baugh continued.
Toni Garbo, manager of the home show, which runs February 22 through March 1, will also oversee the holiday show, scheduled for November 13 to 15, 2020. For more information about the 2020 Cincinnati Holiday Market contact Toni Garbo at ToniG@MarketplaceEvents.com.
The acquisition is the first of the new year for Marketplace Events and the 13th since being purchased by Sentinel Capital Partners in 2016.
The company now produces 76 shows in 34 markets including 51 consumer home shows in the US, 16 in Canada, six holiday shows, two bridal shows and one spring boutique. The 76 combined events attract 22,000 exhibitors, 1.9 million attendees and another 3 million unique web visitors annually. From 15 offices, the 170-person staff produces some of the most successful and longest-running shows in North America, including market-leading shows in Minneapolis, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal—some of which have thrived in their markets for more than 75 years. marketplaceevents.com
