Marketplace Events has committed to provide corporate financial support, product donations, contributions from attendees, advocacy and awareness building and on-site activation across 57 annual events in 25 markets.
"We strive to create uniquely vibrant marketplaces and believe that safe and happy homes are integral to our families, customers and communities," said Tom Baugh, CEO of Marketplace Events. "We are proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity. We have been working with Habitat locally in our show markets for years and with this new corporate partnership, we look forward to making an even larger impact both locally and across the globe."
Marketplace Events also launched a sweepstakes in late 2016 to provide one lucky winner the opportunity for a trip for two to Hawaii -- to take part in a Blitz Build for Habitat for Humanity West Hawaii and help build 10 homes alongside future Habitat homeowners. For each donation of $25 or more to Habitat for Humanity International that Marketplace Events collects, the donor will be entered to win the Hawaii Build + Beach Sweepstakes, which will run through April 11, 2017. The winner and guest will be flown to Kona, Hawaii to participate in building, be exposed to unique cultural demonstrations, local music and entertainment, massages and more during their 10-day trip and build with ground transportation, accommodations, food and stipend provided. About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in nearly 1,400 communities throughout the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.
