Keep It Simple! With C&J Water And C&J Well Co.

Nov 12, 2019

On his hit show Kitchen Nightmares, Chef Gordon Ramsey definitely brings the drama. The show features a failing restaurant that has petitioned Gordon for help turning the business around. If you’ve ever seen an episode, it is filled with staged melodrama, extensive nervous breakdowns, elaborate twists and turns, and, unfortunately, profanity-laced tirades from Ramsey. One consistent theme among these quagmires is Ramsey’s admonition to, “Keep it simple!”. Chefs often overload and overcomplicate their menus, because there are so many dishes they enjoy cooking. This tendency leads to all sorts of problems like waste, less content consumers, more stress and work for staff, and brand confusion.

C and J Water

Your visit to the Indianapolis Home Show has the potential to be like one of Ramsey’s Nightmare kitchens: too many options on the menu can lead to information overload and hamstring wise decision making.

C&J’s advice? Keep it simple and go with the pros! We know water from the ground to your tap.

Water Treatment
At C&J Water, our treatment solutions can ensure you don’t have unwanted particles in your water. Our water softeners prevent mineral deposit build-up in appliances, while using less soap and detergents. A whole-house sediment filter is used to protect your water softening equipment and plumbing fixtures from larger particles that might come into your home. Our reverse-osmosis filtration system has several filters and membranes that remove organic and inorganic solids from your drinking water.

Well Drilling
Using our decades of experience, as well as the latest geological information available, our well drilling crews are able to help you locate a good place on your property that yields the best results for your needs, while complying with state regulations. Whether you need a well for a new home, or an emergency replacement well for an existing property, you can trust C&J Well Co.

Well & Pump Service
We use state-of-the-art products when we drill and set your well. Once our well drillers find water, and it’s time to connect to your indoor plumbing, a well pump is installed. C&J recommends high quality Grundfos pumps. They are reliable and energy efficient, and are available in many options to meet your needs. Whether it’s the well casing, the water pipe & wire, the fittings, or the well pump, C&J makes sure the equipment we use will not only work, but that it will last.

This year at the Indianapolis Home Show let C&J simplify your water needs, whether it be a new well, service on your existing well, or water treatment solutions. Stop by BOOTH #201 for more information!

Stay In An Attitude Of Gratitude This Season

Nov 08, 2019

You start your holiday preparations dreaming of creamy slices of pumpkin pie and hanging stockings in front of a roaring fire. Yet by the time the new year rolls around, you just might find yourself worn out by a list of never-ending seasonal activities you felt obligated to participate in. That’s why we dreamt up some ways to help you stay focused on gratitude this year.

Christmas

Forget the frenzy, take a few deep breaths and redirect yourself toward the true spirit of the season. Consider the following tips to stay grateful and avoid your inner Grinch.

1. Before your guests dive into the turkey and stuffing, encourage a grateful spirit at your Thanksgiving table. Attach gratitude cards made with scrapbooking paper and fun supplies like glitter, stamps or stickers to each place setting. Ask guests to write down what they’re thankful for when they arrive. Then as the cranberry sauce disappears, encourage everyone to share what they wrote.

2. Put pen to paper and write a heartfelt message to someone who has truly made a difference in your life. It could be a friend who was there for you during a difficult time, a teacher who challenged you to reach your full potential or a coach who never gave up on you. Encourage your children to join in on the warm fuzzies with a visit to our Kids’ Craft Corner sponsored by Carolina Home Remodeling where they can make Christmas cards for family, friends and teachers.

3. Let visions of sugarplums dance through your head! Show your appreciation for the firefighters, police officers and EMS personnel who serve our community by bringing them some sweet treats this holiday season. After you find the perfect dessert from one of our food vendors, make sure you say hello to members of the Charlotte Fire Department who will be at the show this year.

4. Pick up a one-of-a-kind commemorative bag when you arrive at the show to store all of your great finds in! They sell for $5 at the show’s entrance, and proceeds from the bags will support the Shriners Hospital for Children.

5. Think about an older adult in your life who is unable to attend the show. Visit some of our home décor vendors and then take your favorite finds to their home to help deck the halls! They’ll love how you thought of them and took the time to do something meaningful and lasting.

Still looking for a way to brighten someone’s day and spread a little Christmas cheer? Be a jolly elf and buy a show ticket for the person standing behind you in line! It’s guaranteed to bring a smile to his or her face and will set an ultra positive tone for your day exploring our Woodland Christmas-themed wonderland.

Get In The Ringing Spirit

Nov 05, 2019

The Circle City Ringers are back by popular demand at the 2019 Christmas Gift + Hobby Show - and they’ll be doing TWO performances this year! See them on Thursday, November 7 at 6pm and Saturday, November 9 at noon.

City Circle Ringers

“We will be doing a few of our favorites from last season, such as ‘The First Noel’ and ‘Sleigh Ride,’ but we have also added a few new songs to our repertoire,” said member Marcia Poisel. “We are excited to be adding ‘The Man with the Bag,’ ‘We Need a Little Christmas,’ ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’ and ‘Do You Hear What I Hear?”

The ringers will end their concert with the crowd favorite “Wizards in Winter.”

“The Christmas Gift + Hobby Show has established itself as a staple in the community for the holiday season,” Marcia said. “Many of our members enjoy visiting the show each year, so it was especially exciting to have been invited to the stage in 2018. That particular performance was one of our favorites last season. We were welcomed by vendors, organizers and patrons who really made the day memorable for us. The ‘spirit of the holidays’ was palpable when we were there, and we can't wait to experience the joyous and festive atmosphere again this year. We're honored to have been invited back in 2019, and we're excited to see everyone at the show!”

Marcia thinks handbells go hand-in-hand with the holidays - and handbells are certainly the specialty of the Circle City Ringers!

“We focus on having fun while we perform the highest-quality, advanced-level music,” Marcia explained. “We commonly hear comments like, ‘I've heard handbells before, but never like THAT!’ We absolutely love what we do, and we want to share this art with as many people as we can. Our ringers have spent many hours in rehearsals preparing some beautiful music to put you in the holiday spirit — you won't be disappointed.”

Come see the Circle City Ringers on the Holiday Entertainment Stage next week. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the season at the Christmas Gift + Hobby Show, November 6-10 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

This is a great way to create a memorable Christmas morning unwrapping gifts with the family in front of a toasty fire.

• Dough bowls are excellent coffee table décor options you might leave in your house all throughout the year. As the days grow colder though, you can turn them into beautiful table centerpieces when you have guests over. Simply change out what you normally display in them for sprigs of holly, ornaments, garland and even candy canes for festive flair.

• We bet this next tip is one you haven’t thought of – it’s a highly effective eye catcher that’s sure to please your guests. Hang a small garland wreath or mini boxwood from the backs of your dining chairs with ribbon. Either will give your space a merry atmosphere and show you considered every detail.

• We leave you with an idea that truly shines! You can absolutely get creative with your chandeliers, even if they’re more ornate. All you have to do is trade out their neutral shades for the robust richness of red plaid fabric.

Marketplace Events Acquires Nine Home Shows in Texas, Kentucky and North Carolina from Show Technology Productions

by Joanne Carry | Apr 24, 2019
CLEVELAND, Ohio – April 24, 2019 – Marketplace Events, the largest producer of business-to-consumer shows in North America, today announced that it has acquired nine home shows from Show Technology Productions of San Antonio.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – April 24, 2019 – Marketplace Events, the largest producer of business-to-consumer shows in North America, today announced that it has acquired nine home shows from Show Technology Productions of San Antonio.

The purchase positions Marketplace Events in three new markets: Austin, Texas (four shows), San Antonio, Texas (three shows) and Lexington, Ky. (one show).  The deal also includes a show in Charlotte, N.C., at Cabarrus Arena. The company already operates another home and garden show in Charlotte along with the iconic 12-day Southern Christmas Show, the largest holiday show in the U.S., at The Park Expo and Conference Center.

The Show Technology transaction is the 11th acquisition completed by Marketplace Events since being purchased by Sentinel Capital Partners in 2016, bringing their portfolio to 75 shows in 34 markets.

“These markets are of obvious strategic growth importance to Marketplace Events,” says Tom Baugh, Marketplace Events CEO. “But the real story is about trust.  Our relationship with Steve Pichichero and his sons, Mark and Tommy Mantini, has always been anchored in mutual candor and respect.  This is the largest deal in our history, and it got done because the foundation of trust was formed from the start.”

The company will open an office in Austin, Texas to produce the new shows.  They will also run their two Oklahoma City shows out of the new Austin location.  Overseeing the transition will be Brent Keller, VP Operations & Integration, a 25-year veteran with Marketplace Events.  Joe Trimble, Regional Sales Director, will move to the market to sales manage the new shows.  Shelly Gepfert, VP Marketing, who has been with Marketplace Events for 13 years, is already located in the Austin market as is long-time exhibit sales consultant Laura Martin, a 19-year company veteran, who will begin selling on the Texas shows immediately.

“We have a good crew of longtime employees who provide a solid foundation on which to build a new team to manage these shows,” said Keller.  “We have a quick turnaround, acquiring these shows in April and running our first shows four months later in August,” he explained, “but we’ve got the right people in the right place and I am confident in our ability to grow these shows,” Keller said.

The announcement comes just two months after the company announced a new partnership with skilled-trade advocate Mike Rowe, best known as the creator and host of Dirty Jobs, to promote their growing portfolio of home shows.

“We work with 20,000+ companies each year – primarily small, locally-owned home improvement business owners who exhibit at our shows, explained Baugh.  “Our success is tied to their success in servicing homeowners and growing their business. They can’t do that without a skilled labor pool so our partnership with Mike Rowe makes sense. It’s a meaningful way for Marketplace Events to support our customers and the home improvement industry throughout North America,” he continued.  “We look forward to bringing this powerful promotional partnership to these new shows.”
