Marketplace Events Announces an All-New Home Show at The International Centre, Toronto, February 20-23, 2014

TORONTO -- Marketplace Events announced today that the company has signed a contract with The International Centre to produce an all-new consumer home show in the facility, annually in February, beginning in 2014. The announcement came as the company is in the midst of producing The National Home Show presented by RE/MAX, in partnership with BILD, which runs at the Direct Energy Centre through March 24.

The all-new home show, set to take place February 20-23, 2014 at The International Centre, will be the company's third annual show in the Greater Toronto Area. It is in addition to the National Home Show collocated with Canada Blooms going on now, and the Fall Home Show in October.

"The opportunity to produce a new, high-quality home show at The International Centre is something we are very pleased about," said Marketplace Events CEO Tom Baugh. "We consider the venue the ideal location for a GTA suburban home event and the annual February time slot is perfect. In addition, we have had tremendous success producing multiple spring shows in many of our markets and with 5.5 million people in the GTA, we look forward to the opportunity to connect home improvement companies with homeowners more often and in more locations in 2014."

"The four-day home show at the Airport Road facility provides another important venue for companies to showcase their products and services in a face-to-face environment. Additionally, it allows us to further solidify our position as the market-leading home show producer in and around Toronto - the largest market in Canada and fourth largest market in North America," he added.

"We are excited that Marketplace Events will be producing an all-new home show at our facility in 2014," said Michael Prescott, Chief Executive Officer, The International Centre. "As an industry innovator, Marketplace Events has produced some of the most successful home shows in North America. Welcoming the new home show to The International Centre continues to showcase our focus on providing market leading events produced by exceptional teams."
